The Rev Hugh Bromiley

Father Hugh Bromiley was born in 1953 at Sandhurst Military hospital, the son of Major Philip and Judith Bromiley. He was baptized a month later in Sandhurst Royal Memorial Chapel and was steeped in a Church of England upbringing both at home and at St. Edward’s School, Oxford.

He studied theology at Trinity College, Bristol and at Westminster College, Oxford, where he earned his Masters in Theology, with distinction. Father Hugh is proud to have his theological development shaped by such leading Anglican theologians as the former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey, the Rev. John Stott and the Rev. Jim Packer. He also appreciates the influence of the well known author and former Oxford Don, C.S. Lewis. He was ordained in Bath and Wells Cathedral by Archbishop George Carey (then the Bishop of Bath and Wells).

One of Father Hugh’s passions is the Christian healing ministry and he has played an active role in the healing ministry, including providing weekly healing services and being a speaker at International Healing Conferences. Fr. Hugh is a chaplain for the Order of St. Luke (OSL) and is a former President of the International Board of OSL.

Another of Father Hugh’s passion is writing. His book, “In Search of a Miracle,” which he coauthored with his wife, Khara, is recommended reading for Order of St. Luke members. He used to write regularly for the Monterey Herald’s column ‘From the Pulpit’ and a number of his articles have been published in ‘The Living Church’ and ‘Episcopal Life.’

He is a trained Spiritual Director and enjoys the privilege of offering spiritual guidance. He is also a State certified mediator. Prior to his vocation to the ordained ministry Father Hugh was a teacher and a motivational speaker.

Father Hugh loves the preaching, teaching and pastoral aspects of the ministry and is glad to be a member of the parish family of St. George.

The Rev. William A. Komstedt, Jr., PhD, Colonel USAF Retired

I was born in New York City and grew up in the deep South, the South Bronx and went to college at Nyack, New York where I met the prettiest southern belle that ever came out of Alabama.  Her name is Martha. One Sunday at worship, I felt a nudge of the Holy Spirit to the priesthood.  It seemed to contradict my perceived call to be a military man and I argued with God about it for several years. I was helping the Episcopal Chaplain at the Veterans Hospital in Washington during my off duty hours.

The Holy Eucharist, the greatest of all healing services was needed by all.  Suddenly I realized that I was bumping the limits of lay ministry and needed the sacramental authority that comes with priesthood.  My call to priesthood, first sensed back in Fort Worth, was hereby validated.

After a few moves, we finally settled into The Villages and Saint George Church.  Now I say to the members of Saint George, “Let us magnify the Lord our God together.”

The Rev Skip Stebbins, MD, Deacon

The Rev. Dr. George Griswold (Skip) Stebbins followed in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps by joining the medical profession.  He was an Explorer and Sea Scout and is an Eagle Scout.

Skip married his childhood sweetheart, Alice, in 1951.  He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School and interned at Baylor University in Dallas. He served in the Navy as a surgeon. Skip and Alice had 5 children; 2 girls and 3 boys.

They joined St. George in 1998. Skip has sang in a church choir since he was 7, as did his brothers, then Alice and their children. He sang in a quartet, and on stage. He acted and sang in The Man Who Came To Dinner, King  Arthur, HMS Pinafore, and many others.

He listens and talks to God.  He doesn’t always like what God has proposed but “I’ve done all I could as a layman.”

The song “How Great Thou Art” will always be Skips’ as long as he is with us at St. George.

The Rev Janet Galbreath, Deacon

The Rev. Janet Louise Galbreath was born in Sewanee, TN.  She and her 22 month son, Dylan, moved to a small cottage at a Fish Camp in Florida in 1971.   She has been happily married for 30 years to a man who had wonderful eyes.

Her husband cared for Dylan while she attended Lake Sumter Community College and earned her Associates Degree in  Christian    Studies.

She worked as an airline attendant but became too homesick and returned home to resume her job as Dental Assistant in Leesburg.  She is still currently employed there.

On January 4, 2001 she became involved in a bad auto accident. Her back was broken and she was in a body cast for 7 months.  She also had a collapsed lung and kidney and liver damage.

Deacon Janet’s son, Dylan, married a Florida Cracker, Amanda, and soon presented Janet with a grandson, Liam Finney Galbreath.

Janet has one sister in Texas, two brothers in Maine and one brother in Pennsylvania.

God spoke to Janet and told her to become a servant for His people. She has done that and we are happy to have her with us.
